The hotel above San José beach

This venue solves a problem most couples only notice when it is too late: how does everybody get home in the evening?
Here, they do not. Everyone stays in the same house, right above the beach, in the middle of the village of San José. Nobody needs a hire car, nobody has to skip the wine, and the next morning half the wedding sits down to breakfast together.
There is no pool here. The pool is the sea.

Everyone under one roof
21 rooms, two of them large family rooms. Many with a sea view, some with a balcony, a few as small apartments with their own living area. Together they sleep 42 guests.
Depending on the size of your group, the whole hotel is booked exclusively — then no stranger sits at the breakfast table between you.
For couples with older guests this is often the only answer that really works. Anyone unsteady on their feet, or unwilling to drive at night, simply walks up the stairs to their room.
You celebrate above the water
The lower terrace sits immediately above the beach, with a railing and a view across the bay to the white village and the mountain behind it. Dinner is served there — long tables or round tables, both work. In the evening fairy lights go up under the cane roof.
And if the weather turns, everyone moves inside. The indoor room is bright, has a large arched window onto the sea, and complete wedding tables have stood there before. It is one of the few rain plans in my portfolio where nothing is lost.
What you need to know about the time
It ends earlier here than at my other venues: on the terrace until midnight, indoors until one.
That is not the hotel’s doing, it is the location. You are in the middle of the village and people live around you. If you want to dance until morning, one of my venues in the natural park suits you better — some have no curfew at all.
If, on the other hand, you want everyone to stay together, have breakfast together and spend the day barefoot on the beach, this is exactly it.

Probably not, if you …

Around San José two more venues belong to the same operator: the old horse cortijo with 25 rooms and a hall for 100 guests, and a pure celebration venue in the natural park for large weddings. They also own a stretch of beach where you can marry among the agaves.
