A white country house with bougainvillea over the door, a pool among old pines, and so much space around it that nobody bumps into anyone during drinks. This is a small family finca \u2014 and that is exactly what it should stay.<\/p>\n
Twelve guests sleep in the house. You book it for yourselves, for a minimum of two nights, and you look after yourselves. There are barbecues, a kitchen, and no timetable you have to keep to.<\/p>\n
The shade of the pines is the real argument here. It decides how your day runs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Why the shade matters more than the pool<\/h2>\n
Old pine trees stand on the grounds, and they cast real shade. That sounds like a detail, but it changes the whole wedding day.<\/p>\n
Normally I put ceremonies in Andalusia in the late afternoon, because before that the sun eats everything. Under these trees you can start earlier. Drinks in the afternoon in the grove, dinner as the light turns warm, party until midnight. A whole day instead of an evening.<\/strong><\/p>\n
An honest addition that nobody else will tell you in advance: in the warm months \u2014 June and September \u2014 the tree shade is not enough for a laid table.<\/strong> Then we hire a canopy. That costs extra, and you should have it in the budget from the start.<\/p>\n
You are among yourselves<\/h2>\n
Five rooms are in the house, plus a small garden house among the pines with its own bathroom. Together they sleep twelve guests.<\/p>\n
It is a self-catering house. You barbecue, you cook, you clear up yourselves \u2014 and because the grounds are yours alone, nobody minds. Whoever is awake first sits by the pool. A caterer comes for the wedding itself. The owners run a restaurant in the village, three minutes away by car, and will take on breakfast or a brunch the day after.<\/p>\n
Where you marry<\/h2>\n
The ceremony takes place on the grounds, looking across the dry landscape to the sea. Afterwards everyone moves into the pine grove: standing tables for drinks, later the tables between the trunks, storm lanterns along the paths, fairy lights above the pool.<\/p>\n
Loud music stops at midnight \u2014 neighbours live in the village. But because you start earlier, nothing is lost.<\/p>\n
